Citation Style Vancouver (CSVAN) is a method of referencing Wikipedia articles using a series of templates based on theVancouver system.
The use of CSVAN or of templates is not compulsory; perWP:CITEVAR:
Citations within each Wikipedia article should follow a consistent style. Editors may choose any style they want. The English Wikipedia does not have a house style, so it need not match what is done in other articles.
Templates[edit]
CSVAN consists of the following set of templates:
- {{vcite book}}for books
- {{vcite conference}}for conference proceedings
- {{vcite journal}}for articles in academic journals and similar periodicals
- {{vcite news}}for articles in newspapers and similar news sources
- {{vcite web}}for web pages, that is, sources published as part of web sites that are not books, journals, or news
