Hexestrol diphosphate(brand namesCytostatin,Cytostesin,Pharmestrin,Retalon Aquosum) is asynthetic,nonsteroidalestrogenof thestilbestrolgroup related todiethylstilbestroland used as an estrogen andantineoplastic agentin the treatment ofprostate cancer.[1][2][3]It is awater-solubleesterofhexestrol.[1]The medication has been known since at least 1956.[3]
