Hexestrol diphosphate(brand namesCytostatin,Cytostesin,Pharmestrin,Retalon Aquosum) is asynthetic,nonsteroidal estrogenof thestilbestrolgroup related todiethylstilbestroland used as an estrogen andantineoplastic agentin the treatment ofprostate cancer.^[1]^[2]^[3]It is awater-soluble esterofhexestrol.^[1]The medication has been known since at least 1956.^[3]
