Huancarama Districtis one of the nineteendistrictsof the provinceAndahuaylasinPeru.[1]

Ethnic groups

The people in the district are mainlyindigenouscitizens ofQuechuadescent.Quechuais the language which the majority of the population (80.11%) learnt to speak in childhood, 19.47% of the residents started speaking using theSpanishlanguage (2007 Peru Census).[2]
