TheHuaro Districtis one of the twelvedistrictsin theQuispicanchi ProvinceinPeru.Created by Law No. 11863 on September 26, 1952, its capital is the town of Huaro.

Geography[edit]

One of the highest peaks of the district is Khuchiyuq at approximately 4,600 m (15,100 ft). Other mountains are listed below:[1]

Ethnic groups[edit]

The people in the district are mainlyindigenouscitizens ofQuechuadescent.Quechuais the language which the majority of the population (56.81%) learnt to speak in childhood, 42.90% of the residents started speaking using theSpanishlanguage (2007 Peru Census).[2]
