Interferon-alpha/beta receptor beta chainis aproteinthat in humans is encoded by theIFNAR2gene.[5]

Function[edit]

The protein encoded by this gene is atype I membrane proteinthat forms one of the two chains of areceptor for interferons alpha and beta.Binding and activation of the receptor stimulatesJanus protein kinases,which in turn phosphorylate several proteins, includingSTAT1andSTAT2.Multiple transcript variants encoding at least two different isoforms have been found for this gene.[6]
