Ian Brooke(born 1 March 1943) is an English former professionalrugby leaguefootballer who played in the 1960s and 1970s, andcoachedin the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. He played at representative level forGreat Britain,and at club level forWakefield Trinity(two spells) (captain), andBradford Northern,as awing,orcentre,and coached at club level forBradford Northern,Wakefield Trinity,HuddersfieldandDoncaster.[2]

Born inPlymouth,Devon,Brooke was adopted as a baby and grew up inWakefield.[3]

Brooke representedGreat Britainwhile at Bradford Northern on the1966 Lions tour,[6]playing all three matches against Australia, and twice against New Zealand. He also woncapsfor Great Britain in 1967 against Australia (3 matches), in 1968 against France (2 matches), and in the1968 Rugby League World Cupagainst Australia (1-try), France, and New Zealand (1-try).[1]
