Ian Rapoport(born January 9, 1980) is an American sportswriter, pundit, and television analyst who primarily covers theNational Football League(NFL).
Early life
[edit]Rappaport was born inBostonand grew up inChappaqua, New York.[1]He was a collegeroweratColumbia Universitywhere he majored in history.[2][1]
Career
[edit]Rapoport started his career for theJackson Clarion-Ledgerin 2004 covering theMississippi State Bulldogs.He moved on toThe Birmingham Newsin 2006 to cover theAlabama Crimson Tide.[1]As reported on Pardon My Take ( "PMT" ), he applied for a job with theBoston Heraldon the basis that he would coverBill Belichickin the same manner he coveredNick Saban.[1]After receiving the job, he served as a Patriots beat reporter for theBoston Heraldfor three seasons starting in 2009. Rapoport joined theNFL Networkin 2012.[3]
Personal life
[edit]Rapoport is Jewish.[4]He and his wife Leah, whom he married in 2009, have two sons named Max and Jude.[5]Rapoport is a fan of theNew York Metsand threw a ceremonial first pitch at a home game in 2021.[6]
