Itilima Districtis one of the fivedistrictsofSimiyu RegionofTanzania,East Africa. Its district capital isLagangabilili. It is bordered to the north byBariadi District,to the east byNgorongoro District,to the south byMaswa DistrictandMeatu District,and to the west byMagu District.

As of 2022, the population of Itilima was 419,213.[1][2]Itilima was established in 2012, when it was split off fromBariadi Districtand became part of the newly establishedSimiyu Region.[3]

Transport

The highway that connectsShinyanga RegionandMara Region(trunk road T36)[4]passes through Itilima district from south to north.[5]

Tourism

The east of Itilima District is part of Maswa Game Reserve.[6]
