Jean Paul "J. P." Izquierdo(born March 12, 1969[citation needed]) is a formerCanadian footballslotbackwho played seven seasons in theCanadian Football League(CFL) with theToronto Argonauts,Edmonton EskimosandCalgary Stampeders.He was drafted by the Toronto Argonauts in the second round of the1991 CFL Draft.He playedCIS footballat theUniversity of Calgaryand attendedSaint Francis High SchoolinCalgary, Alberta.He is the older brother of former CFL playerJavier Glatt.[1]

College career

Izquierdo played CIS football for theCalgary Dinos,setting the school record for total touchdowns with 29. He also recorded 2,505 rushing yards on 434 attempts. He helped the Dinos win the24th Vanier Cupin 1988, was a first team All-Canadian in 1989 and was on the second national all-star team in 1990.

Professional career

Izquierdo was selected by theToronto Argonautswith the tenth pick in the1991 CFL Draft.He played for the Argonauts from 1991 to 1992, winning the79th Grey Cupin 1991. He played for theEdmonton Eskimosfrom 1993 to 1995, winning the81st Grey Cupin 1993. Izquierdo played for the Argonauts in 1996, winning the84th Grey Cup.He played for theCalgary Stampedersin 1997.

Personal life

Izquierdo taught English at Holy Cross Junior High following his time with the Stampeders.

Izquierdo later became a teacher at hisalma materSaint Francis High School.
