John Carlo de Vera(born March 10, 1986), better known by his screen nameJC de Vera,is a Filipino actor, host, model and singer.

Personal life[edit]

De Vera was offered a basketball scholarship inColegio de San Juan de Letranafter he graduated from high school inColegio San Agustin – Makatibut rejected it to pursue his acting career. He also studied inAteneo de Manila University.De Vera announced on February 28, 2021, in theYouTubechannel ofErich Gonzalesthat he and his non-showbiz partner Rikkah Cruz were married since 2018. They have two daughters, Lana (born April 2018) and Laura (born June 2023).[1]

2003–2010[edit]

He started his showbiz career in 2003 when he was cast inClick.At the time, he was paired up withValerie Concepcionand Julianne Lee, but was soon cast in supporting and lead roles in primetime series with the likes ofRichard Gutierrez,Dingdong Dantes,Dennis Trillo.

He was named asGMA Network's Drama Prince[2]after they highly rated and praisedPhilippine dramaslikePati Ba Pintig ng Puso,Pasan Ko Ang DaigdigandBabangon Ako't Dudurugin Kita,where he was paired withYasmien Kurdi.JC has also paired up withRhian RamosinLaLolaandHeart EvangelistainSine Novela'sNgayon at Kailanman.JC was paired up withJackie Ricein the recently concluded fantaserye of GMA Network,Panday Kids.

2010–2013[edit]

De Vera was transferred to TV5 and signed a three-year contract. He was formally introduced on March 17, 2010, as one of the new talents to the network.[3][4]His last appearance wasCassandra: Warrior Angel.

In December 2010, de Vera announced his departure from Bench following his decision not to renew his contract due to busy commitments, but he moved toCalvin KleinandFreego Jeansin August 2011.[5]

2013–present[edit]

After signing a two-year contract withABS-CBNon July 29, 2013,[6]De Vera's career returned to the limelight as he starred on the high-profile primetime seriesThe Legal WifestarringAngel Locsin,Jericho RosalesandMaja Salvador,[7]the afternoon seriesMoon of DesirestarringMeg ImperialandEllen Adarna,and in the filmOnce a PrincesswithErich GonzalesandEnchong Dee.Soon after, he appeared in the40th Metro Manila Film FestivalmovieShake, Rattle & Roll XV,alongside Erich Gonzales.

In 2015, he starred in the romantic horror filmHalik sa HanginwithJulia MontesandGerald Anderson.He was seen next together withJessy Mendiolain the romantic family drama seriesYou're My Home,alongsideRichard GomezandDawn Zulueta.[8]He starred in the teleserye,The Better Half,as Rafael Cabrera, in 2017.

In 2018, he starred in the romantic comedy seriesSince I Found YouwithArci MuñozandPiolo Pascual.
