Jabal Mareer

Jabal Mareer(Arabic:جبل مرير) is amountainof theSarwat Mountainsin theArabian Peninsulaand is located in the village ofAl Qahtanabout 15kilometersnorthofAl-Namasin theAsir region.[1][2]

It is the highest peak in the so-called[by whom?]"Bitter Mountains," named because of their difficult ascent. The peak offers views of theRed Seato the west and the oases ofBishato the east on a clear day.

Jabal Mareer has been declared a national park[where?]due to pristine forests ofjuniperand an animal population that includesArabian leopards,hyenas,wolves,and theNubian ibex.
