Historiography
[edit]Ottoman scholarsCemal KafadarandBaki Tezcanhave argued that the janissary revolts ought to be viewed not just as military rebellions, but also as mass movements against the Ottoman aristocracy which were supported by lower socioeconomic classes.[1][2][3]
