Janne Blichert-Toftis ageochemist,specializing in the use ofisotopeswith applications in understanding planetarymantle-crustevolution, as well as thechemical composition of matter in the universe.To further this research, Blichert-Toft has developed techniques for high-precisionIsotope-ratio mass spectrometrymeasurements.[1]

Subsequently, Blichter-Toft was at theAustralian National Universityin 2004, atCambridge Universityin 2005, atTokyo Universityin 2006, and at theUniversity of Chicagoin 2011.[3]
From 2008 to 2015, she was also adjunct faculty and Distinguished Wiess Visiting Scholar atRice University.[4]

After her Marie-Curie post-doctorate, Blichert-Toft joined the CNRS in 1997 and became Director of Research in 2002 working at theÉcole normale supérieure de Lyon.

She pioneered the application ofhafniumisotopes to the evolution of the Earth and the early solar system.[7]
