Jeffrey S. Crowley(bornc. 1965) is best known as a member of theDomestic Policy Councilin theadministrationofU.S. President Barack Obamaas the director of theOffice of National AIDS Policy(ONAP) from 2009 to 2011, tasked with coordinating the U.S. government's efforts regardingHIV/AIDSprevention, treatment and care and developing the National HIV/AIDS Strategy.[1][2]

Previously, Crowley was a senior scholar and researcher at theHealth Policy InstituteatGeorgetown Universitywhere he focused onMedicareandMedicaidpolicy from 2000 to 2009.[1][3]Prior to that time, he worked at theNational Association of People with AIDS,beginning as a public policy intern in 1994, and finally serving as deputy executive director for programs in 2000.[4]

Crowley is the author of both research and consumer education publications, and has made numerous presentations on HIV/AIDS and disability issues.[4]

Crowley was raised inGrand Rapids, Michigan.[3]He graduated fromKalamazoo Collegewith aB.A.in chemistry, and earned aMaster of Public Healthdegree fromJohns Hopkins University.After graduation from college, Crowley served in theUnited States Peace Corpsas a high school science teacher inSwaziland.[2]
