Juan Agustín Musso(born 6 May 1994) is an Argentine professionalfootballerwho plays as agoalkeeperforLa LigaclubAtlético Madrid,on loan fromSerie AclubAtalanta,and theArgentina national team.

Club career

Musso trained at the academy of Club de Regatas San Nicolas, before going on loan toDefensores de Belgrano de Villa Ramallo,with which he won the local championship at the age of 16. In the final, he saved three out of five penalties in theshoot-out.[citation needed]

Racing Club

Musso was the third-choice goalkeeper duringRacing Club's2014 Argentine Primera Divisiónchampionship, the team's first title in 13 years. He made his professional debutthree years later,on 28 May 2017, in a 2–1 home win againstSan Lorenzo.Musso became the team's first-choice goalkeeper during the2017–18 Argentine Primera División,in which Racing finished in 7th place and qualified for the2019 Copa Sudamericana.[citation needed]

Udinese

In the summer of 2018, Musso was signed bySerie AsideUdinese.Throughout the season, he established himself as the undisputed starter and became one of the team's key players. In three seasons, Musso accumulated a total of 102 appearances in the league.[1]

Atalanta

On 2 July 2021, Musso was signed byAtalanta.[2]On 22 May 2024, he clinched his first trophy with the club as Atalanta defeatedBayer Leverkusento win theUEFA Europa League.

Loan to Atlético Madrid

On 27 August 2024, Musso joinedLa LigaclubAtlético Madridon a season-long loan for the 2024–25 season.[3]

International career

Musso was born in Argentina and is of Italian descent, holding both passports.[4]He was part of theArgentina U20 national team's squad for the2013 South American Youth Football Championship.[5]

On 26 March 2019, Musso debuted for theArgentine senior squadin afriendly matchagainstMorocco,coming as a 67th-minutesubstituteforEsteban Andrada.[6]The same year on 14 June, Musso received a late call-up for the2019 Copa Américato replace the injured Andrada.[7]
