Kōshōis a crater onMercury.[1]Its name was adopted by theInternational Astronomical Unionin 1985. Kōshō is named for the Japanese sculptorKōshō,who lived in the 13th century CE.[2]

There are bright patches on the central peak of Kōshō, which may behollows.

Kōshō is on the east margin ofSuisei Planitia.To the south is the large craterStrindberg,to the east isAhmad Baba,and to the north isTurgenev.
