Kaitlin Cotter was born inHastingsand grew up inNapier.[3][4][2]

Under-21[edit]
Kaitlin Cotter made her debut for theNew Zealand U-21team in 2018 during a test series againstAustraliainHastings.[5]
The following year she appeared at aTri–Nationstournament inCanberra.[5]
Black Sticks[edit]
Cotter made her debut for theBlack Sticksin 2020 duringseason threeof theFIH Pro League.[2]
Due to travel restrictions during theCOVID-19 pandemic,Cotter did not represent the national team again until 2022. She was a member of the squad at theTrans–Tasman Hockey SeriesinAuckland.[5]Later that year she was named in the national squad for both theFIH World CupinTerrassaandAmsterdam,as well as theXXII Commonwealth GamesinBirmingham.[6][7]
