John Kelley Lovelaceis an American songwriter known mainly for his work withcountryartistBrad Paisley.He has written several of Paisley's singles, including the number 1 hits "He Didn't Have to Be"(Paisley's first number 1[2]), "The World","Ticks","Online","I'm Still a Guy","Start a Band","Water",and"Remind Me".He has also written Top 10 singles forJoe Nichols,Jason Aldean,Terri Clark,andCarrie Underwood.In 2010, he received anASCAPaward for "Water".[3]

Lovelace is an alumnus ofHixson High School[4][5]inChattanooga, TennesseeandBelmont Universityin Nashville.[1]Lovelace also played football for Hixson High.[6] John Kelley Lovelace is married to Rachel Kerr Lovelace. They welcomed their first baby, Lucy Lovelace, in 2024 and they live in Franklin, TN.
