He graduated fromTrinity College,located inDublin,Ireland,with a major inmodern historyin 1968.[1]Shillington did his postgraduate teacher training at theUniversity of Zambia,located inLusaka,Zambia.He holds aMAandPhDinAfrican historyfrom theUniversity of London.[1]

Career

Shillington taught History and English at Secondary School in Zambia in the early 1970s. During the early 1980s, he trained history teachers at theUniversity of Botswana,whose main campus is located inGaborone,Botswana.[1]From the mid-1980s he has been a freelance historian and biographer, specializing mostly in African History.[citation needed]
