Liao, King of Wu(Chinese:Ngô vương liêu;died 515 BC), also namedZhouyu,was king of thestate of Wuin theSpring and Autumn period.

Biography[edit]

Liao was the grandson of KingShoumeng.He took the throne in 526 BC.[citation needed]During his time as king he led several battles against the state ofChu.In 518 BC, he conquered the fortified Chu city ofZhongli.[1]He wasassassinatedbyZhuan Zhuduring a function organised by his cousin, Prince Guang, who then became KingHelüof Wu.
