Koichi Misawa(Tam trạch hưng nhất,Misawa Koichi,born June 8, 1974)is a Japanesebaseballpitcherwho won a silver medal in the1996 Summer Olympics.He also played for theYomiuri Giants,Osaka Kintetsu Buffaloes,and theTokyo Yakult SwallowsinNippon Professional Baseballfrom 1997 to 2005.

In 2008, he came to the United States to play in theindependentNorthern Leaguewith theGary SouthShore RailCats.He posted a 1.69earned run averagein 42.2innings pitched.[1]Gary managerGreg Tagertlater told theChicago Tribunethat Misawa "was the absolute best I’ve ever seen coming out the bullpen at our level."[2]During the winter, Misawa played for theCaribes de Anzoáteguiin theVenezuelan Professional Baseball Leagueand pitched two thirds of an inning for theLeones del Escogidoof theDominican Professional Baseball League.In 2009, he played his final professional season with theLong Beach Armadaof theGolden Baseball League.[1]
