Kosmos 2426(‹See Tfd›Russian:Космос 2426meaningCosmos 2426) is one of a set of threeRussianmilitarysatelliteslaunched in 2006 as part of theGLONASSsatellite navigation system. It was launched withKosmos 2424andKosmos 2425.

This satellite is a GLONASS-M satellite, also known as Uragan-M. It was assigned GLONASS-M №17 number by the manufacturer[4]and 717 by theGround Control.[5]

Kosmos 2424 / 2425 / 2426 were launched fromSite 81/24atBaikonur Cosmodromein Kazakhstan. AProton-Kcarrier rocket with aBlok DMupper stage was used to perform the launch which took place at 20:18 UTC on 25 December 2006. The launch successfully placed the satellites intoMedium Earth orbit.It subsequently received itsKosmosdesignation, and theInternational Designator2006-062B. TheUnited States Space Commandassigned it theSatellite Catalog Number29671.[1]

It is in the second orbital plane in orbital slot 10. It started operations on 3 April 2007.[6][7]
