La Morera de Montsant(Catalan pronunciation:[lamoˈɾeɾaðemonˈsan]) is a village in theprovinceofTarragonaandautonomous communityofCatalonia,Spain.
Geography
[edit]It is located in the mountainous wine-producing region of theSerra de Montsantthus named because there were many hermits living in the range in early Medieval times.[4]
The municipality has two villages:
- La Morera de Montsant,the main population centre
- Escaladei,located by theCartoixa d'Escaladei,aCarthusian Ordermonastery.[5]
