Lagunes District(French:District des Lagunes,pronounced[distʁiktdelaɡyn],lit. 'Lagoons') is one of fourteenadministrative districtsofIvory Coast.The district is located in the southern part of the country. The capital of the district isDabou.
Creation
[edit]Lagunes District was created in a 2011 administrative reorganisation of thesubdivisions of Ivory Coast.[2]The territory of the district was composed by merging the former regions ofAgnébyandLagunesand removing the territory of theAbidjan Autonomous District.[3]
Administrative divisions
[edit]Lagunes District is currently subdivided into threeregionsand the followingdepartments:
- Agnéby-Tiassa Region(region seat inAgboville)
- Grands-Ponts Region(region seat also inDabou)
- La Mé Region(region seat inAdzopé)
