Laizhou Bay(simplified Chinese:Lai châu loan;traditional Chinese:Lai châu loan;pinyin:Láizhōu Wān) is abayon the southern shore of theBohai Sea(also known as theBohai Gulf,or justBo Hai,which is a large and relatively shallow westward extension of the northernYellow Sea), bounded by the northwestern coastline of theShandong Peninsulawest of thePort of Longkouand the eastern coastline ofDongyingsouth of theYellow Riverestuary.It is named after thecounty-level cityofLaizhouto its east, and is the smallest of the three main bays of the Bohai Sea (the other two being theLiaodong Bayto the north, and theBohai Bayto the west).
