Lakshmi Venuis an Indian businesseswoman and the managing director ofSundaram-Clayton.[1][2]She is an heiress to theChennai-based conglomerateTVS Group,which was established by her great-grandfatherT. V. Sundaram Iyengar.[3][4][5][6]

[edit]Lakshmi is the daughter ofVenu SrinivasanandMallika Srinivasan.Both of Lakshmi's parents run separate business empires which they inherited from their respective fathers. Venu Srinivasan runs theTVS Group(Sundaram-Clayton Group) founded by his grandfatherT. V. Sundaram Iyengar,while Mallika Srinivasan runs theTAFE Group companies(of theAmalgamations Group) inherited from her father,A. Sivasailam.[7]
Lakshmi has one brother, Sudarshan Venu. She grew up inChennaiand studied atSishya SchoolinAdyar.She did her degree in economics fromYale Universityand then her Doctorate in Engineering Management fromUniversity of Warwick.[8][9]
Career
[edit]Lakshmi was appointed Joint managing director in Sundaram Clayton at a young age.[10][11][5]
Personal life
[edit]In 2011, she marriedRohan Murty,son of Infosys founderN. R. Narayana MurthyandSudha Murthy.[12][13]They divorced in 2015.[14]
In March 2018, it was announced that Lakshmi had married Mahesh Gogineni in a private ceremony held inJodhpur.Mahesh Gogineni, is the grandson ofN. G. Ranga.[15][16][17]He is a first-generation entrepreneur who runs a tech start-up.
