Leo Schaya(1916–1985) was a Swissauthorandscholarwhose works focused on theSufitradition, theKabbalah,and theTraditionalist School.

Biography

Born inSwitzerland,Schaya lived much of his adult life inNancy, France.He grew up in a traditional Jewish household and from his early youth he was interested in the works ofneo-Platonism,SufismandAdvaita Vedanta.

He published several articles on theKabbalah.He also wrote a book on theSufidoctrine of unity. He is the founder of the journalConnaissance des religions(Knowledge of Religions).

Schaya was a friend and frequent correspondent of prominentTraditionalistFrithjof Schuon.
