Liam Mark Kinsella(born 23 February 1996) is a professionalfootballerwho plays as amidfielderforEFL League TwoclubCheltenham Town.Kinsella was born in England and has represented theRepublic of Ireland at U19 levelandU21 level.
Club career

[edit]Kinsella signed forWalsallas an eight-year-old and worked his way through various youth levels before signing his first professional contract in March 2014.[2][3]He made his senior debut againstBradford Cityon 16 August 2014 and was named man of the match in a 0–0 draw.[4]
He scored his first senior goal in a 2–0 win overBurton Albionin October 2015 to help Walsall leapfrog theBrewersto the top of theLeague Onetable.[5]Kinsella described the goal as "one of the best moments of my career so far".[2]
He was offered a new contract by Walsall at the end of the 2018–19 season.[6]In January 2021 he signed a new two-year contract.[7]
Kinsella was named as the club'sPlayer of the Seasonin2020–21and2021–22.[8]
He departed the club upon the expiration of his contract at the end of the2022–23 season.[9]
Swindon Town
[edit]Kinsella signed forSwindon Townon 28 July 2023, linking up again his former manager atWalsall,Michael Flynn.[10]
Cheltenham Town
[edit]On 24 January 2024, Kinsella joined League One clubCheltenham Townon an eighteen-month contract, reuniting with former Walsall managerDarrell Clarke.[11]
International career
[edit]Kinsella made hisRepublic of Ireland U19sdebut on 25 February 2015 in a friendly match against Azerbaijan Under 19s. He was named in the starting eleven for the match atTallaght Stadium.[12]His second appearance came just two days later in a 2–0 win against the same opposition at the same venue.[13]
He earned his first call-up to theRepublic of Ireland U21sin September 2016[14]and made his debut 12 months later against Azerbaijan U21s.[15]
Personal life
[edit]His father is formerRepublic of Ireland internationalfootballerMark Kinsella.[15]His younger sister is Olympic gymnastics bronze medallist,Alice Kinsella.[16][17]
