Lithium stearateis achemical compoundwith the formula LiO2C(CH2)16CH3.It is formally classified as asoap(a salt of afatty acid). Lithium stearate is a white soft solid, prepared by the reaction oflithium hydroxideandstearic acid.
Lithium stearate andlithium 12-hydroxystearatearelithium soaps,and are components oflithium greasesandrelease agents.[1]
