Early life and education[edit]

Born inSpokane, Washington,Suko received aBachelor of Artsdegree fromWashington State Universityin 1965 and aJuris Doctorfrom theUniversity of Idaho College of Lawin 1968. He was alaw clerkfor JudgeCharles L. Powell,U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Washington from 1968 to 1969.

Career[edit]

Suko was in private practice inYakima, Washington,from 1969 to 1995. He served as a part timeUnited States magistrate judgein the Eastern District of Washington from 1971 to 1991. He served as a full time United States magistrate judge in the Eastern District of Washington from 1995 to 2003.

Federal judicial service[edit]

On April 28, 2003, Suko was nominated by PresidentGeorge W. Bushto serve as a United States district judge of theUnited States District Court for the Eastern District of Washington.He was nominated to a seat vacated by JudgeWilliam Fremming Nielsen.He was confirmed by theUnited States Senateon July 15, 2003 and received his commission on July 16, 2003. Suko tooksenior statuson November 1, 2013.[1]
