Loos(French pronunciation:[lɔs]) is acommunein theNorddepartmentin northernFrance(Hauts-de-France).[3]
It is located in theEuropean Metropolis of Lille,and is asuburbof the city ofLille,bordering it on its southwest side. In 2018, Loos had a population of 22,426. The commune has a land area of 6.95 km2(2.68 sq mi).[4]
The town hall of Loos, with its large belfry, was inscribed on theUNESCOWorld Heritage Listin 2005 in recognition of its historical importance to municipal power in Europe.[5]
