Marjorie Blanche Parker(known asMaggi Parker;born 1927) is an American actress best known for her appearances in the CBS crime dramaHawaii Five-O.

Early life

Parker was born in 1927[1]inNashua, New Hampshire,one of six children of Charles R. Parker,[2][3]atenter frameoperator.[4]She attended elementary schools inMerrimack,and graduated fromNashua High Schoolin 1944.[4]She majored in education atKeene State College,and then gained aMaster of EducationfromBoston University,[2][5]then taught in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.[4][6][7]

She then joined theUS Air Forceas a teacher, and worked in air force schools inTokyo,Mallorca[4][2][5]andMadrid(where she was principal).[6][7]She studied for aPhDat theUniversity of Southern California,but did not complete her degree, instead marrying and moving toHawaii.[6]There, she was a partner in a clinic inOahuoffering educational services to emotionally disturbed children and adults.[4][2][7][5]

Film career

In Hawaii, Parker appeared in aKellogg'scommercial,The King Family ShowandI Dream of Jeannie.[4][2][7]She also had uncredited roles in several films, includingParadise, Hawaiian Style,[2][7]Kona Coast,[7]I Sailed to Tahiti with an All Girl Crew[2][7]andHawaii.[4][7]She was then cast inHawaii Five-Oas Steve McGarrett's secretary May[4][2][6][7][5]and appeared in 14 episodes during the show'sfirst season.

Personal life

Parker was also the registration and publicity officer of The Friends of'Iolani Palace,[3][8]the former royal residence of Hawaii. She traveled withAbigail Kinoiki Kekaulike Kawānanakoato the US and Europe in 1970, seeking original palace furnishings,[3]and worked for theKawānanakoaroyal family for many years.[9] She lives inWaikiki,Honolulu.[4][2]
