Cuisine in Maliincludesriceandmilletas staples ofMali,a food culture heavily based oncereal grains.[1][2]Grains are generally prepared with sauces made from edible leaves, such asspinach,sweet potatoorbaobab,withtomatopeanutsauce. The dishes may be accompanied by pieces of grilledmeat(typicallychicken,mutton,beef,orgoat).[1][2]

Malian cuisine varies regionally.[1][2]Part ofWest African cuisine,other popular dishes in Mali includefufu,Dibi,Jollof rice,andmaafe(peanut butter sauce).
