Marau Sound

Marau Soundis asoundinSolomon Islands;it is located at the eastern end ofGuadalcanalIsland, inGuadalcanal Province.[1]

In 1896 a large and profitable trading station was established onTavanipupu (Crawford) Islandin Marau Sound. It is now the site of the Tavanipupu Resort, which was visited by theDuke and Duchess of Cambridgein 2012.[2][3]
