Marcus Knight (priest)

Marcus KnightFKC(11 September 1903 – 11 December 1988[1]) was an Anglican priest. He was theDean of Exeterin the Church of England from 1960 to 1972.[2]

Knight was educated atChrist's HospitalandKing's College London.AftercuraciesinStoke NewingtonandEalinghe was the Priest-Vicar ofExeter Cathedral.After this he was theVicarofCockingtonand thenRural DeanofAtherstone.He was acanonofSt Paul's Cathedral, Londonfrom 1946 to 1960[3]when he was appointed as theDean of Exeter.He was awarded an honorary doctorate byExeter University.[4]
