Matthew K. Rose(born 1960 inSalina, Kansas) is the former chairman and CEO ofBurlington Northern Santa FeCorp., serving in that role from 2002 to December 31, 2013. In December 2013, Rose's role was shifted to that of executive chairman, renewing speculation he might be in line to replaceWarren Buffettat Berkshire's helm.[1]

He attended theUniversity of Missouriand is a member ofLambda Chi Alphafraternity. Rose has a wife, Lisa, and two children.[2]

Rose is a member of theNational Executive Board of the Boy Scouts of America,the organization's governing body.[3]

Rose was named theRailroader of the YearbyRailway Agefor 2010.[4]
