Matthias of Jerusalem(died 120 AD) was a 2nd-centuryChristiansaintand aBishop of Jerusalem,whose episcopacy was about 113–120AD.
Matthew was probably bishop for few years after Tobias until 120.[1][2]During his episcopacy, he dealt with a troubled political situation due toRomanpersecution ofChristiansand aJewishuprising.[3]According toEusebius of Caesareahe was aJewish Christian.[4]He was persecuted by EmperorHadrian(117–138), but died peacefully about 120AD.[5]
