Mavora Lakesis aprotected areain theSouth Islandof New Zealand consisting of two lakes: North Mavora and South Mavora. The lakes are drained by theMararoa River.The area is managed by theDepartment of Conservation,and is part ofTe Wahipounamu,aWorld Heritage Area.[1]

The area was used as a film location forThe Lord of the Ringsfilm trilogy.[2]

The park has a rudimentary campsite and a range of tracks.[1]
