TheMercedes-Benz EQC(N293)is abattery electriccompact luxurycrossover SUVproduced byMercedes-Benzsince 2019.[7][8]It is the first member of the battery electricMercedes EQfamily.[9]

History

The EQC is based on the Generation EQ concept that was unveiled at the2016 Paris Motor Show.[10]The final production version was revealed in Sweden on 4 September 2018,[11]and publicly debuted at the2018 Paris Motor Show.[12]

Production of the EQC ended in the second half of 2023.[13]

Design

The EQC is based on theGLCand shares the samewheelbasedimensions.[14]It is a five-seater vehicle and has a trunk capacity of 500 litres (18 cu ft).[15]

The EQC400 4MATIC is powered by 2asynchronouselectric motors,fitted on the front and rear axles, and produces 300 kW (402 hp).[16]It has an electronically limited top speed of 180 km/h (112 mph).[17]

The 80 kWhbattery packhas a modular design and consists of 384lithium-ion cells.[18]It can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in 40 minutes, via a DCfast charger.[19]

Steering wheel paddle shifters allow for the selection of varying levels ofbrake energy regeneration.[20]

Equipment

Standard equipment includes 19-inch alloy wheels,automatic collision avoidance,and two 10.25-inch interior displays for the instrument cluster and infotainment system.[21]All models feature the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) system, which features avoice-controlledsmart-assistantthat can be activated by saying "Hey Mercedes".[22]It can display charging information and energy consumption figures.[23]Thenavigation systemcan also suggest routes that includecharging stationsdepending on the remaining charge of the battery,[24]as well as simple destination entry usingwhat3words.[citation needed]
