TheMisais ariver,108 kilometres long, in theSemigalliaregion ofLatvia.[1]Its upper course till itstributaryZvirgzde riveris rectificated. There are activepeatextraction sites andpolderson the banks of the river from thevillageofStelpetoBeibeži.From the Zvirgzde river to the village ofPlakanciemsthere are severalsummer cottagecolonies on the wooded banks of the Misa. Below Plakanciems to the Misa's confluence with theIecavanearOzolnieki,the land either side of the river has a relatively highpopulation density.

The biggest settlements near the river are: Stelpe, Beibeži,Dzērumi,Plakanciems,Pēternieki,Dalbeand Ozolnieki.
