Miyazaki Maru

Miyazaki Maru(Cung kỳ hoàn)was an 8,520-ton Japaneseocean linerbuilt in 1909 byKawasaki Dockyard Co., Ltd.inKobe.While steaming fromYokohama,Japan,toLondonduringWorld War I,she was sunk in theAtlantic Ocean150 miles (240 km) to the west of theIsles of Scillyon 31 May 1917 by theImperial German NavysubmarineU-88,with the loss of eight lives.[1]

Miyazaki Maruhas been cited as a possible source of thegutta-perchablocks inscribed with the name "Tjipetir"that began to wash up on the coasts ofWestern Europein summer 2012.[2]
