Mohammad Saifuddin(Bengali:মোহাম্মদ সাইফুদ্দিন;born 1 November 1996) also known as Saif is a Bangladeshicricketerwho played forBangladesh Premier LeagueteamFortune Barishal.In December 2015, he was named inBangladesh's squadfor the2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.[1]He made his international debut in October 2017.[2]He also represented Bangladesh in the 2019 Cricket World Cup.

Domestic career

Saifuddin made hisTwenty20(T20) debut on 13 November 2016 playing forComilla Victoriansin the2016–17 Bangladesh Premier League.[3]

Saifuddin was the leading wicket-taker forShinepukur Cricket Clubin the2017–18 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League,with 14 dismissals in 10 matches.[4]

In April 2018, Saifuddin scored his maiden century infirst-class cricket,scoring 100not outforEast Zonein the final round of the2017–18 Bangladesh Cricket League.[5]

In October 2018, Saifuddin was named in the squad for theComilla Victoriansteam, following the draft for the2018–19 Bangladesh Premier League.[6]He was the leading wicket-taker forAbahani Limitedin the2018–19 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket Leaguetournament, with 25 dismissals in 13 matches.[7]

Saifuddin played for Minister Group Rajshahi in2020-21 Bangabandhu T20 Cup.[8]

International career

In April 2017, Saifuddin was named in Bangladesh'sTwenty20 International(T20I) squad for their seriesagainst Sri Lanka.[9]He made his T20I debut for Bangladesh against Sri Lanka on 4 April 2017.[10]In October 2017, he was named in Bangladesh'sOne Day International(ODI) squad for their seriesagainst South Africa.[11]On 15 October 2017, he made his ODI debut against South Africa for Bangladesh atKimberley.[12]

In April 2019, Saifuddin was named inBangladesh's squadfor the2019 Cricket World Cup.[13][14]In September 2021, he was named in Bangladesh's squad for the2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup.[15]However, on 26 October 2021, he was ruled out of the rest of the tournament, after suffering a back injury.[16]
