Molochio(Greek:Μολὸχα,romanized:Molòcha)[citation needed]is acomune(municipality) in theProvince of Reggio Calabriain theItalianregionCalabria,located about 80 kilometres (50 mi) southwest ofCatanzaroand about 40 kilometres (25 mi) northeast ofReggio Calabria.As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,700 and an area of 37.3 square kilometres (14.4 sq mi).[2]It is known for "having one of the highest prevalences of centenarians in the world".[3]
