Mons Maenalus

Mons Maenalus(LatinforMountMaenalus) was aconstellationcreated byJohannes Heveliusin 1687. It was located between the constellations ofBoötesandVirgo,and depicts a mountain in Greece that the herdsman is stepping upon.[1]It was increasingly considered obsolete by the latter half of the 19th century.[2]Its brightest star is31 Boötis,a G-type giant ofapparent magnitude4.86m.

The main stars that make up the constellation are14,15,18,31 Boötisand71 Virginis.[citation needed]
