Montell Brandon Kane Moore(born 23 December 1995) is an English convicted sex offender and former professionalfootballmidfielder.He is a product of theBrentfordacademyand had a spell withMaltese Premier LeaguesideHiberniansin 2017 after his departure fromCharlton Athletic.

Youth years (2003–2014)

Growing up inChiswick,[2]Moore joined the localBrentfordCommunity Sports Trust at age seven and impressed enough to be offered a place at the club'sCentre of Excellence.[3][4]A broken leg and a year out of football failed to halt his progression through the ranks and he made his debut for the club'syouth teamduring the2011–12season,[5]making eight appearances.[6]Moore signed scholarship forms in July 2012.[7]Over the course of his two-year scholarship, he scored 14 goals in 36 appearances for the youth team and finished as top scorer in the2013–14season.[8][9]On 30 June 2014, Moore signed a one-year professional contract to be a part of theDevelopment Squadfor the2014–15season.[10]

Breakthrough (2014–2016)

After featuring for the first team duringpre-seasonand scoring in a 5–1 rout ofBarnet,[11]Moore was called into the senior squad for the opening game of the 2014–15Championshipseason againstCharlton Athletic,but remained an unused substitute.[12]He made his professional debut in the following match, starting in aLeague Cupfirst round tie withDagenham & Redbridge.[13]With the score at 4–4, Moore scored his first senior goal seven minutes intoextra timeand Brentford won the match onpenaltiesafter an incredible 6–6 draw.[13]He also set up two goals forStuart Dallas.[14]Moore signed a new three-year contract on 15 August,[4]but lost his place in the squad due to the arrival ofBetinhoonloanand the resurgence ofToumani Diagouraga.[12][15]He continued to appear regularly for the Development Squad and spent the second half of the 2014–15 season out onloan.[16]

Moore failed to feature at all for the first team during the first six months of the2015–16season and his contract was cancelled by mutual consent on 1 February 2016.[17]He made one first team appearance and scored 9 goals in 31 matches for the Development Squad during 18 months as a professional atGriffin Park.[18][19][20][21][22]

Burnham (loan)

Moore and Brentford Development Squad teammate George Pilbeam joinedSouthern LeaguePremier Division strugglersBurnhamon loan on 11 February 2014.[23]In a spell affected by the weather, Moore made just one appearance for the Blues, as a late substitute in a 4–2 defeat toSt Neots Townon 15 February.[24]

Midtjylland (loan)

On 19 January 2015, Moore joinedDanish SuperligaleadersMidtjyllandon loan until May 2015.[25]He made 8 U19 and tworeserve teamappearances and helped the U19 team to the U19 Ligaen title.[16]He returned to Griffin Park after his loan expired.[16]

Charlton Athletic

On 15 February 2016, Moore joined Championship side Charlton Athletic until the end of the2015–16season after a successful trial with the club'sDevelopment Squad.[26]He made one appearance for the club's U23 team in aKent Senior Cupmatch.[27]

Hibernians

In mid-January 2017, Moore moved toMaltato joinMaltese Premier LeagueclubHibernians.[28]He made 11 appearances and won the first seniorsilverwareof his career when Hibernians claimed the league title with one match to spare.[29][30]He departed the club after the season.[31]

Enfield Town

After receiving international clearance, Moore returned toEnglandto joinIsthmian LeaguePremier Division clubEnfield Townon 15 September 2017.[31]He made his debut the following day as a late substitute for Mickey Parcell in a 0–0FA Cupsecond qualifying round draw withHanwell Town.[32]He scored his first goal for the club in the following match, with the third goal in a 5–0 rout of Hanwell Town in the replay.[32]Moore was released in November, after making 12 appearances and scoring two goals for the club.[32]

Sexual crimes and conviction

In September 2018, after having been found guilty of rape at Isleworth Magistrates' Court, he received a prison sentence of 11 years and 6 months.[33]

On 18 April 2023, Moore pleaded guilty to two further counts of rape. He was sentenced to a further six years in prison. The initial offence took place in May 2014; a police spokesperson said "The victim decided to report the rape after hearing the offender had been convicted of a more recent offence." At the time of this conviction, he was serving his sentence atHMP Bristol.[34]
