Mr. Wuis a 1919 Britishdrama filmdirected byMaurice Elveyand starringMatheson Lang,Roy Royston,Lillah McCarthyandMeggie Albanesi.[1]It was based on a 1913 playMr. Wuby Maurice Vernon andHarold Owen.During the filming Albanesi became infatuated with Lang.[2]The picture was made byStoll Pictures,and was one of their first major successes.Lon Chaneyplayed the title role in a 1927remake.The screenplay concerns a ChineseMandarinwho murders his daughter.
