NGC 5408is anirregular galaxyin theconstellationCentaurus.It was discovered byJohn Herschelon June 5, 1834.[3]

Galaxy group information[edit]

NGC 5408 is located near the M83 Subgroup of theCentaurus A/M83 Group,a relatively nearbygroup of galaxies.However, it is unclear as to whether NGC 5408 is part of the group.[4]
