NGC 5470is an edge-onspiral galaxylocated between 43 and 68 millionlight-yearsaway in the constellationVirgo.[5][6]It was discovered by astronomerJohn Herschelin 1830.[7]It is a member of theVirgo III Groups,a series of galaxies andgalaxy clustersstrung out to the east of theVirgo Superclusterof galaxies.[8]
