NGC 88is abarred spiral galaxyexhibiting an inner ring structure located about 160 millionlight yearsfrom theEarthin thePhoenix constellation.NGC 88 is interacting with the galaxiesNGC 92,NGC 87andNGC 89. It is part of a family of galaxies calledRobert's Quartetdiscovered by astronomerJohn Herschelin the 1830s.
