Neomixisis agenusof small forest birds that areendemictoMadagascar.

The genus was introduced by the English zoologistRichard Bowdler Sharpein 1881. Thetype speciesis thestripe-throated jery(Neomixis striatigula).[2]The genus was formerly placed in theOld World babblerfamily but is now considered to belong to the familyCisticolidae.

Another species thewedge-tailed jery(Hartertula flavoviridis) was until recently placed in this genus but biochemical studies suggest its true relationships lie elsewhere.
